FAQ
Questions.
The four questions the landing page answers are repeated at the bottom, so this page stands on its own.
- What will Recurna Flow cost at launch?
Recurna Flow is in invite-only beta, and pricing isn't live yet. At public launch, the free tier gives you a 12-week forecast forever, including the what-if sandbox. $8 CAD/mo unlocks the unlimited horizon and the ability to save and compare what you test, neither of which Copilot, Monarch, or YNAB sell at any price. The annual plan works out to $6/mo.
- Is my financial data safe? Do you store my bank credentials?
No bank credentials, no Plaid, no third-party sync at launch. Recurna Flow is manual-first by design: you enter your accounts and recurring patterns once, and your transaction data never reaches a US aggregator. Login is handled by Clerk, an enterprise-grade auth provider used by companies like Linear and Vercel. Full export (CSV and JSON) is free for everyone. Your data is yours is a promise, not a plan feature.
- What's the difference between Free and Pro?
At public launch, Free gives you one account and a 12-week forecast, forever, including the what-if sandbox to test changes live. Pro adds every account and the unlimited forecast horizon, plus saving and comparing what you test. Household sharing, projections, and CSV exports are free on every plan. The free tier is the trial; there is no time-bombed countdown.
- Does Recurna use AI?
No, and that's intentional. Recurna doesn't have a built-in AI chatbot and never sends your data to an AI vendor. What it does have is an MCP connector (Pro): you connect Recurna to the AI you already use, Claude today, and ask it questions in your own words. Your AI calls Recurna's real forecast engine and narrates the answer. Your data stays in your control.
- Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Recurna Flow is a web-first app built as a PWA. Open flow.recurna.app in your phone's browser and add it to your home screen for a near-native feel. Forecast, simulation, and reconciliation all work on a phone. Native iOS and Android apps are on the roadmap.
- How does this compare to YNAB or Monarch?
YNAB asks you to assign every dollar a job before you spend it; we show you what your dollars are already going to do and let you test changes in a sandbox before any of them happen. Monarch and Copilot show the past in beautiful detail; we show you the next 52 weeks (or further on Pro). Recurna is $8 CAD/mo; YNAB and Monarch are both around $20 CAD/mo at today's exchange rate.

- Manual entry sounds like a lot of work.
You anchor each recurring transaction once (rent, payday, the hydro bill) and the engine projects it forward for you. You are not typing in coffees. Reconciling is a batch job, not a running commentary, and most people spend under ten minutes a week on it. Optional bank sync is a Pro roadmap item, not a missing piece.
- Why no bank sync?
At launch, manual entry is the design. Your bank credentials never leave you, your transaction data never reaches a US aggregator, and because recurring patterns are anchored once, the ongoing cost is the ten minutes above rather than a permanent feed of everything you buy.
- Can my partner and I share one forecast?
Yes, and it is free on every plan, including the free tier. Each of you has your own login, and you both see and edit the same forecast. Nobody has to guess what the other one can afford, and sharing is not sold back to you as a seat.
- What if I commit and the app dies?
Full export, JSON and CSV, is free on every plan, including free. Your data is yours is a promise, not a plan feature, and the free tier means you can trial the whole idea without betting anything on us surviving.
